Conceptual framework of trip services and HMI

General framework for ALFRED's future HMI. The deliverable will present the general concept that will take into account the inputs from the work on cognitive, emotional, road comfort, ambient comfort and also the acceptance factors identified in task T1.1 and T3.1. The main strategies of the concept of intelligent and multimodal HMI that will be acceptable to passengers will be presented. (T4.1.)

Framework of the emphatic module and preliminary relationship among automotive factors with cognitive and emotional passenger state

Definition of the limit ranges (room for manoeuvre) for those factors that affect passengers’ state and that can be controlled by ALFRED, as well as determine existing constraints in terms of safety, and selection of a first battery of passenger biometrics (ECG, breathing, temperature) and behaviour sensors (facial, gesture, voice) for feeding the passenger ALFRED empathic module input. (T3.1)

Definition of a framework for the ethical decision making of ALFRED

Final version of flow chart algorithm of ethical decision making delivered by D22 based on the initial evaluation of ALFRED components by T63 This flow chart algorithm will then be implemented in VHCD for final tests T23

Model and guidelines depicting key psychological factors that explain and promote public acceptability of CAV among different types of user groups such as passengers and other road-users including vulnerable road users

Developing a psychological model by using the key psychological factors identified in T1.1. Carrying out a large-scale survey in France, Germany, Italy, UK, Spain and the Netherlands to test and validate the model in large-samples (T1.2).

First version of mitigation strategies and interventions to effectively stimulate people towards a higher acceptance of CAV

Based on findings delivered in D13 drafting a first version of mitigation strategies facilitating acceptability of CAV and policy recommendations Providing at least five strategies eg improving perceived comfort

Evaluation framework guidelines

It includes the framework for the Evaluation activities of the project. Evaluations are crucial so documental, technical, ethical and human aspects will be necessary to define in order to accomplish all the goals pursued. (T6.1)

Guidelines on mitigation strategies and interventions to effectively stimulate people towards a higher acceptance of CAV, in general, and ALFRED specifically

Combining findings from D13 and D14 finetuning our policy recommendations Providing at least three key strategies per user group T13 and T14

Comparison across countries of “right to access to transport”

Analysis from a comparative law perspective focusing on how the right to access to transport is handled amongst different countries A particular focus will be on 1 the comparison between France and the United States and 2 the comparison amongst European countries depending on the regulations guaranteeing right to access to transport T24

First identification of potential psychological factors that influence acceptance of CAV among passengers and other road users

Reviewing the literature on the CAV and other relevant mobility innovations. Making a documentation of psychological factors predicting acceptability of CAV, linking it to key user groups (T1.1).

Final assessment of ALFRED concept and guidelines to further expand

Results of the final demonstration activities T65 about ALFRED concept demonstrator D54 ingluding general indicators and qualitative assessment from Advisory Board and individual with OEMs and TIER1s interested in SUaaVE Additionally this deliverable includes guidelines to further expand ALFRED concept to include other potential drivers that nowadays do not drive vehicles children senior citizens and people with disabilities result of T64

ALFRED Use cases

The representative ALFRED Use Cases must be well defined and depicted in this document. The entire different hypotheses coming from WP1 will define ALFRED Use Cases. This first identification of psychological factors that influence acceptance of CAV will be the main input to create the UC. (T6.1)

ALFRED Demonstrator

Final SUaaVE demonstrator of the ALFRED, as simulated with the V-HCD platform. This demonstrator will be presented at Public Events and videos demonstrations of ALFRED will be Public (even if the V-HCD software and the ALFRED algorithms / modules by themselves will be CO).
