Report on analysis of interactions among the mesopelagic community and with predators

Description and analysis of the trophic niche overlap and partition among the key species within each meso and bathypelagic communities for each case study locations where stable isotope data are availableEstimation of the annual energy and biomass removals by top predators mainly cetaceans and seabirds of major mesopelagic prey groups from the different European marine subregions The analysis will combine relative proportions and energetic densities of ingested prey as well as predator energetic requirements and population sizes

Simultaneous quantification of active, gravitational and DOC fluxes at range of contrasting sites

Simultaneous quantification of active gravitational and DOC fluxes at range of contrasting sites At multiple sites the three fluxes will be quantified simultaneously active flux using new acoustic observations of migrating organisms together with published sizebased relationships of carbon release gravitational flux using the prototype optical system deliverable 42 and physical samples eg from snowcatchers the DOC flux using water samples to quantify DOC concentrations together with estimates of turbulent mixing from historical data model output or opportunistic microstructure observations

A parameterized interface (Bayesian net) to determine the trade-offs and overall change in the value of the ecosystem services

Research analyticsreport on the research outcome of SUMMER The report is generated using OpenAIRE metrics setting up services to track usage of resources made available by SUMMER
