Refining the role of EU institutions
With the right knowledge and tools, EU institutions can influence global governance and develop new ways to harness the potential of public engagement and participatory foresight. They can also become powerful enough to tackle emerging trends such as nationalism, regionalism and protectionism. In this context, the EU-funded TRIGGER project is mobilising a group of 14 partners (including 4 non-EU countries) to create an unprecedented Atlas of Global Governance Regulation and Europe’s Actorness (AGGREGATOR). They will also focus on the relationship between governance and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence. At the end of the project, all deliverables will be merged into a toolkit dedicated to Public Engagement for Responsive and Shared EU Strategies (PERSEUS).
