Summary of the context and overall objectives of the project

Most commercial transactions between companies of the F&V (fruits and vegetables) sector are initiated from an instant messaging tools. However, no specific tool in the market harnesses the potential of conversations to improve efficiency of the Industry.
At present, the amount of goods lost along the distribution chain reaches 7.5% of total volume, so that the economic and social impact of any improvement of in the efficency of this sector is enormous.

Against this background, Consentio is a digital platform (App & Desktop) based on conversational technology that automate a large part of trading (selling and buying) flows of the F&V market. It strengthens the existing relationships between stakeholders and increases the global efficiency of the sector, enabling new commercial opportunities.

Our objectives during this project are to define the advanced features that convert Consentio as a leading application of the F&V sector, and to set up a marketing plan that guaranty its sucessful commercialization.

Work performed from the beginning of the project to the end of the period covered by the report and main results achieved so far

During Phase I project, we have validated the technical, commercial and financial feasibilities of Consentio. We have set up numerous internal meetings and workshops to undertake this aim and we have count on state-of-the-art specialized companies that have advised us about issues of different nature.
The main specific results of this study are, we have:
Technological
• selected the core technologies to integrate conversations into legacy systems,
• defined the strategy for transaction legal binding with digital signature and blockchain technologies,
• studied the requirements for a virtual assistant system,
• outlined the Big Data and ML roadmap.
Commercial
• identified the stakeholders that can act as market drivers for Consentio,
• defined the commercial strategy and prices scheme.
Consentio is feasible under the assumptions we believe acceptable, and will generate value for shareholders. We think that is a profitable project and for that reason. We will also present this project to a SME Instrument Phase 2.

Progress beyond the state of the art and expected potential impact (including the socio-economic impact and the wider societal implications of the project so far)

Consentio offers an important innovation to improve efficiency in the sector of F&V supply chain, offering a new approach that leverage the existing relationships of all the agents involved in this sector. We are convince that Consentio will deliver significant benefits to those agents, and will contribute to an important reduction of food wasted in this sector.
