Project description
Developing innovative models for soil quality assessment
Soil quality is paramount to agriculture and essential for its sustainability. Efficient soil quality assessment, management and protection underpin sustainable agricultural practices. Unfortunately, current models used within environmental footprints do not consider the comprehensive effects of land use on soil quality. The EU-funded SAAFE project aims to address this gap. A multidisciplinary research team with access to large datasets will develop a new modelling approach to account better for soil quality within environmental assessments.
