Innovative stem cell research centre in Bulgaria
Stem cell research is advancing in Bulgaria with the recruitment of an ERA Chair at the Medical University of Varna. The goal is to promote and support basic and applied research, aiming for the expansion of the existing knowledge base research on specific issues. The EU-funded TRANSTEM project will create an advanced Stem Cell Biology Department for the ERA Chair, who will be an experienced biology scientist. The department will fully exploit the existing scientific capacities, expand efficiency in creating and using innovations, and will strengthen the university’s discovery of new therapies and medicines. The result of the research will benefit public health and create new financial opportunities.
