Project description
Emergent properties of a novel training network will establish European leadership
The brain is a complicated interconnected system organised over multiple levels from molecules to single cells to circuits and large-scale networks. Understanding how cognition and behaviour emerge from these networks is a biomedical Holy Grail. The nascent yet rapidly evolving field of network neuroscience seeks to understand this complexity through the lens of the theory of networks and complex systems. Within the last five years, network neuroscience earned a journal by the same name and was the subject of a flurry of esteemed papers. euSNN is forming an interconnected network of experts in experimental, theoretical, and computational methods to train young scientists and ensure that Europe plays a leading role in this critically important cross-disciplinary field.
