Project description
AI-based platform for detecting and fixing software bugs
With software playing an increasingly important role in modern society and industry, software errors or bugs can be catastrophic. They are responsible for the vast majority of failures in major industries, impacting healthcare and other public services especially with a large variety of software failures and losses reaching EUR 1.5 trillion. Regrettably, current methodologies for testing software have been unable to transition to the higher complexity and more dangerous risks posed by this issue. The EU-funded GAMMA project will develop an AI-based software engineering platform that accurately detects a vast variety of software bugs and errors in real time and provides possible solutions.
Objective
When software applications fail, the first reason is a software bug (or error). Software bugs account for the highest percentage of failures in all major industries, specifically impacting public service and healthcare the most with 110 types of software failures, and retail and consumer tech with 109 types. According to Tricentis, monetary losses from software failures cost €1.5 Trillion.
Unfortunately, software testing methodologies and tools have been slow to transform to the new complexity and higher risks. To fill the gap in the market, Acellere has developed the Gamma Recommendation Engine, a disruptive Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based software engineering platform which efficiently detects a very wide range of software bugs in real-time and immediately proposes fixes.
Gamma goes beyond standard programming rules to uncover unique issue patterns by combining innovative AI learning approaches with custom analytical tools. Gamma’s original and surprisingly effective AI components are centred around natural-language programming, predictive modelling, and cluster identification. The engine has already been proven to work with an accuracy of 70-75% on several open source Apache repositories, such as Kafka, Cassandra, and Lucene.
Using Gamma helps software developers save time, to quickly identify errors and solve issues before they appear. Through cutting the need for lengthy code review, there is a great potential to save 60% of time (and therefore, 15% of a developer’s salary) .
The Gamma Recommendation Engine is a cutting-edge innovation that enables the effective and efficient scaling of code and software development companies, and the leader in the nascent real-time smart code recommendation engines.
