Project description
A chatbot to help migrants integrate
The integration of migrants and refugees into their host country begins as soon as they arrive and continues over time. Despite efforts made and improvements seen, many challenges remain and much of the potential that third-country nationals bring with them stays unused. Across the EU, migrants and refugees continue to fare worse than EU citizens in employment, education and social inclusion outcomes. This means the EU needs to step up its integration strategies. The EU-funded WELCOME project will bring virtual multilingual agents to help reverse this trend. It foresees the adoption of chatbots to act as dedicated personalised assistants of migrants in contexts of registration, orientation, language teaching, civic education, and social and societal inclusion.
