Digital Network Management Services

Project description

More efficient network operations

The EU-funded PJ09-W2 DNMS project focuses on integrating two concepts from previous wave of R&D: Demand Capacity Balancing (DCB) and Dynamic Airspace Configurations (DAC). The project will validate and bring closer to deployment the three operational solutions: Solution 44 Dynamic Airspace Configurations will deal with user acceptability and operational feasibility of the proposed DAC solutions integrated with DCB – aiming to increase airspace capacity. Solution 45 Enhanced Network Traffic Prediction is intended to advance the multilayer traffic prediction model as a key enabler for more efficient Network operations. Finally, Solution 49 will validate the concept of Collaborative Network Performance Management with a particular focus on AI driven network state prediction and a more active role of Network manager in critical conditions.

Objective

Project PJ09, Digital Network Management Services is focusing on improvement of the network traffic prediction for all DCB (Demand Capacity Balancing) actors, dynamic airspace configurations, integrated network management and ATC planning (INAP) and collaborative network performance management.
This project is structured along 3 solutions:

Solution 44 Dynamic Airspace Configurations (DAC) will address the user acceptability and operational feasibility of the proposed DAC solutions and it will focus on integration of the DAC with DCB.

Solution 45 Enhanced Network Traffic Prediction and shared complexity representation aims to develop the multi-layer traffic prediction model improving the forecast in pre-tactical, early D day, tactical and execution time horizons.

Solution 49 will validate an operational states prediction algorithm to anticipate the performance degradation in identified areas within the network. It will also validate the transition from local to regional measures in critical state.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Keywords

Project’s keywords as indicated by the project coordinator. Not to be confused with the EuroSciVoc taxonomy (Fields of science)

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.

RIA - Research and Innovation action

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.

EUROCONTROL - EUROPEAN ORGANISATION FOR THE SAFETY OF AIR NAVIGATION
Net EU contribution

Net EU financial contribution. The sum of money that the participant receives, deducted by the EU contribution to its linked third party. It considers the distribution of the EU financial contribution between direct beneficiaries of the project and other types of participants, like third-party participants.
