Novel cooling system for the cryogen-free, continuous, and fully-automatic generation of very low temperatures near absolute zero.

Periodic Reporting for period 1 - CADR (Novel cooling system for the cryogen-free, continuous, and fully-automatic generation of very low temperatures near absolute zero.)

Periodo di rendicontazione: 2019-07-01 al 2019-11-30

kiutra’s system will be a game-changer for future quantum engineers. For the first time, kiutra offers a commercial (Continuous) Adiabatic Demagnetization Refrigeration ((C)ADR) system for rapid testing ‘single-shot’ (pulsed) and/or continuous, cryogen-free generation of low temperatures with robust and automatic operation from room temperature to sub-Kelvin temperatures 1- 2 hours.
kiutra utilized the Phase 1 funding to carry out a thorough study directed to identify and explore the technical and business requirements necessary for the MR-X line (C)ADR system to become commercially viable in the quantum technologies market. Their team attended several meetings and workshops to gain feedback from a range of stakeholders. They conducted deep market research to measure the opportunities and existing gaps available in the low-temperature sector. The results of this research and analysis resulted in data on application potential, current initiatives or competitors, and existing gaps. The Quantum computing and their urgent need for an advanced cryogen-free cooling system for rapid, cost-effective testing of their prototype sub-component quantum bits, quantum logic gates and quantum processors as well as other superconducting electronics was revealed to be a promising field.
kiutra’s system is cost-effective, robust, automated, modular, scalable, user-friendly, and sustainable. This unique combination of advantages makes it an ideal solution for the replacement of critical, expensive, and hazardous cryogenic helium (3He and 4He) and a technology enabler for the approaching technological paradigm-shift and unfolding of the so called ‘second quantum revolution’ which quantum electronics promise to be .
