Sintesi del contesto e degli obiettivi generali del progetto

The industrial and commercial refrigeration sector consumes a lot of energy: 3-4% of total electricity production in industrialized countries is destined for refrigeration. This has a strong impact on the environment too as about two-thirds of greenhouse gas emissions are caused by energy consumption.
Reducing energy consumption in this intense consuming sector can bring great benefits for the environment and significant money savings. That’s why we are creating TEM.
TEM is completely new and disrupting approach to the control of the evaporation in refrigerated display cabinets allowing the usage of the total cooling surface inside the cabinet, achieving a significant improvement in terms of energy efficiency.
The scope of this phase of the project is to turn TEM concept into an actual industrial product and start introducing it into the market.

Lavoro eseguito dall’inizio del progetto fino alla fine del periodo coperto dalla relazione e principali risultati finora ottenuti

We had a first internal target, which was to fully define TEM solution as an industrial product, fully tested, documented, and reliable.

We were able to match this target as we developed, defined and are realized a dedicated Demo Unit in our premises.

We greatly benefited from the installation of the Pilot Unit on our premises with the consequent possibility of carrying out various tests and measurements to refine the product design and to collect data to be used for commercial purposes.
We also set up and brought to a good stage the various activities aimed to the industrialization of the product.

Our commercial and communication activities confirmed the interest for a product with the characteristics of TEM as the attention and the search for solutions aimed at energy saving is constantly increasing.

In response to the market demand, we decided to address more resources for further enhancing the design of the product.

We are performing commercial activities, continuous competitor analysis and technology surveillance to ensure our FTO and a succesful introduction on the market once we'll be ready.

Progressi oltre lo stato dell’arte e potenziale impatto previsto (incluso l’impatto socioeconomico e le implicazioni sociali più ampie del progetto fino ad ora)

TEM is our strategic driver for the growth of TEKLAB. Not only it is an innovative project for definition of a new product, but it also means a real opportunity and exciting challenge to boost our company growth.
Within the end of the project we expect to introduce TEM as a completely new product in our products portfolio creating new possibilities in a market where we are already active.
As consequence we expect an important company growth in terms of turnover and employees even in this difficult period due to COVID 19.
After the end of the Project we expect to be able to apply TEM to many refrigeration systems in Europe.
This would have a strong impact on the environment too as reducing energy consumption in this intense consuming sector will bring great benefits for the environment.
