The most accurate 3D sensor in the world

Periodic Reporting for period 3 - Smarter Vision Micro (The most accurate 3D sensor in the world)

Periodo di rendicontazione: 2021-10-01 al 2022-09-30

Challenge in Automotive, Consumer electronics and Robotics industries is to get accurate 3D information of an object, whether it is a human sitting in a car or an object in a conveyor belt. Ladimo Smarter Vision 3D sensor is the world’s most accurate 3D sensor to enable new applications. Smarter Vision Micro 3D sensor will allow Industrial automation / Robotics to automate processes assisting human labour where it is requested, even in a hazardous place where it would be dangerous for people to go. The overall objective of the project is to provide a SOLUTION = Accurate and affordable 3D sensor with Apps to be used in several target markets enabling new ways of conducting the works more flexibly and efficiently, saving energy and workforce.
During the project the core components like laser, camera, optics and Diffractive Optical Element (DOE) were selected and tested. The Software was also developed and works continued for the integration of the components, testing and validation. We also started Pilots with Samsung and Logitech.
Dissemination and communication plans have also been implemented to facilitate the awareness of Smarter Vision Micro for Ladimo target market and consolidate our current network of customers in the robotics industry. Due to Covid-19 pandemic, we have further developed new ways of promoting Smarter Vision Micro using demonstration videos, thus trying to minimize the loss of potential for dissemination. A patent was approved in Finland and Japan.
We saw a big impact of the 3D sensor request while talking to different target customers. One potential customer was in Health sector where Helsinki University Hospital visited our office to see the live demonstration in which our Smarter Vision sensor could measure heartbeat from the distance of 4 meters. This could be a groundbreaking innovation especially helping with aging population to be able to monitor elderly people at home and elderly houses. Also, many Japanese companies shown interest for this when talking with Ladimo team. As an overall, Smarter Vision 3D sensor would have had impact in several target markets from industrial automation, consumer electronics, autonomous driving (driver and passenger monitoring) to health sector in hospitals, homes and elderly houses.
