NightWatch - Clinically-proven detection and alert system for critical nocturnal epileptic seizures.

Periodic Reporting for period 1 - NIGHTWATCH (NightWatch - Clinically-proven detection and alert system for critical nocturnal epileptic seizures.)

Berichtszeitraum: 2019-12-01 bis 2020-03-31

NightWatch is a clinically proven, detection and alert system for critical nocturnal epileptic seizures. A registered medical device that was conceived from the combined knowledge of a consortium of three leading institutes and organisations of epilepsy in The Netherlands. With NightWatch we:
- Offer Personalised Care – The unique algorithm adapts to patient’s seizure history, thus able to detect even more reliably according to evolving patterns
-Reduce Mental and Financial Baggage – By means of a reliable remote alerting system, caregivers will be relieved of mental stress. At the same time intramural care centers can reduce expenses by optimising expensive night shift
LivAssured’s solution consists of an Arm Module and a Base Station. The arm module should be worn while in bed, that detects epileptic nocturnal seizures (both tonic and clonic) and notifies wirelessly remote caregivers within few seconds from seizure start
The work performed as result of the SME Instrument Phase1; (1) A technical viability study of optimising the detection algorithm and design of the user interface; (2) A market analysis to define the final product and validation of commercial strategy and set the expansion strategy; and (3) Study of steps necessary for regulatory certification (4) A financial forecast and business plan to meet sales pipeline growth.
By the end of the project we will be ready to tackle the European market, A total estimated investment of €2.6 million is required for the successful commercialisation of NightWatch, requiring an estimated 24 months. 30% of the required budget has already been committed by current business investors in order to enable successful commercialisation of NightWatch
