Test facilities, techniques and methodologies developed in E-LISA are aimed at maturing the technology readiness level for an electrical landing gear from 3-4 to 5-6, thereby paving the way towards higher TRLs and specific applications.
E-LISA impact will cover:
- Advancement in electrical landing gear technology development, manufacturing and qualification
- Construction of an innovative multi-functional, multi-purpose, easily reconfigurable test facility allowing to perform a full verification and validation of an electrical landing gear over the representative operating conditions, and under normal, degraded and faulty conditions by conduction of :
- tests on the actual hardware
- Hardware-in-the-loop tests
- Software-in-the-loop tests
- Developing learning and reasoning analytical tools creating a framework for implementation of a prognostics and health management system for electromechanical actuators and brakes of a landing gear
- Improving the competence in modular iron bird construction, that could be effectively exploited in
The technological results provided by E-LISA will contribute to foster the competitiveness of European aviation through cost efficiency and innovation. In particular, E-LISA will contribute to the objective of ensuring to the EU the capability of developing new versions of SAT with better handling qualities, reduced fuel consumption and lower operating and life-cycle costs.
E-LISA contribution will also facilitate moving beyond the state-of-the-art in an area perceived by the aerospace community as one of its key innovations for competitiveness. This will entail the development of new skills in the aviation workforce, hence contributing to future European wealth and employment.
