Obiettivo
The main objective of this project is to achieve a permanent involvement of the metal sector companies in the improvement of the environment by means of their participation in the eco-management and eco-audit system of the EU. This projects response to two priorities of LIFE 1994: interchange of experiences of environmental management and audit, and development of clean technologies.
In particular, the plan will attain the following objectives: to prepare the application of the European system of environmental management and audit to the small and medium companies of the metal sector, with interchange of experiences of them; to provide information to the small and medium companies about the European Union System of Ecoaudit and technological improvements; to provide education and training to the workers, managers and other people in charge of the environment protection in the metal sector companies, and to the professionals involved with auditing and technological improvements to undertake a more efficient environmental management. To achieve these objectives the plan will be divided into the following tasks: realization of audits and environmental evaluations to different small and medium companies of the metal sector; analysis and compared evaluation of the environmental auditing and management of the companies involved in the previous phase; production of Recommendation Guide about technological improvements; production of a Manual of Eco-management and Eco-auditing to be used by the metal sector to ease the application of the environmental management and auditing system; production of a software package of eco-management and eco-auditing for permitting to companies the realization themself of basic environmental audits; specialization course about Implantation of a Eco-management and Eco-audits system and technological improvement in metal sector; general dissemination of guide about technological improvements, manual of Eco-management and Eco-auditing, software package of Eco-management and Eco-audits to all metal sector companies.
