Innovative vocational training measures to develop and enhance women's careers in science, engineering and technology

Ziel

OBJECTIVES
Women are presently under-represented in the technological sectors of the job market, even as this sector experiences rapid expansion. To diversify the employment possibilities for women in the job market, enhance their employability and use their specific skills in male-dominated sectors, the partners of this project aim to create an appropriate training programme. This programme will endeavour to adapt the female workforce to the changing market and develop career possibilities for women in the sector of new technology, offering them guidance, alternative working methods and mentoring.

ACTIVITIES
The partners will start by identifying the specific skills which need to be developed amongst women to enable them to break into the information technology sector. They will then develop a series of courses, each one targeting a particular skill field to be acquired and developing teaching methods suited to the target audience. A training plan and training material will then be developed for each course. The six courses will be piloted and assessed in each partner country, before being finalised and distributed in all the European countries.

PRODUCTS
Creation of six training courses designed to assist the integration of women into technological sectors of the job market (accessible by Internet and in printed form). Development of a training guide and training materials.
