Un coup de pouce pour l’évaluation scientifique du changement climatique

Le Groupe d’experts intergouvernemental sur l’évolution du climat (GIEC) est un organe des Nations unies créé en 1988 par l’Organisation météorologique mondiale et le Programme des Nations unies pour l’environnement. Son rôle consiste à fournir aux décideurs politiques des évaluations et des rapports scientifiques réguliers concernant le changement climatique. Le projet AR6, financé par l’UE, soutiendra la préparation du sixième rapport d’évaluation du GIEC. Il vise à accroître la participation d’experts issus de pays en développement et d’économies en transition au processus du GIEC. Par ailleurs, il contribuera à mettre en lumière les produits du GIEC sur la scène internationale.

Objectif

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is the key global climate science-policy interface, underpinning international climate change policy-making and is the leading global body responsible for the scientific assessment of climate change. In preparation of the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report (AR6), support will be provided to increase the participation of experts from developing countries and economies in transition, should their governments not be in a position to provide appropriate funding, to the IPCC process. Support will also be provided to enhance the visibility of the IPCC products globally.
