Set up and operation of the International Advisory Board (opens in new window)

Early in the project and prior to the recruitment of the ECH the PM in cooperation with the SC will undertake the procedures in order to form the projects International Advisory Board IAB It will be composed of toplevel international scientists with vast expertise in the research area of the project holding an R4 or R3 level The IAB members will be selected based on a number of criteria ie expertise sector publications previous ECH positions etc and a shortlist invitation process see section 321 The specific Terms of Reference for its operation will be provided by M3 together with a report that will provide an overview of the scope structure operational management and expected contribution of the Board including a list and CVs of its members The principal role of the IAB will be to act as an independent validation and consultation body It will have a key role in the ECH recruitment process in evaluating the implementation of the required structural changes

Scientific and Management Plan (opens in new window)

SMP will offer directions for the set up and organization of the new Transplant Immunology Research Centre and Lab according to the ERA priorities In doing so the ECH will elaborate on hisher draft version of the SMP developed during hisher recruitment process It has to be underlined that the development of the SMP will also take into consideration i the national and European priorities ii the standards that the European Federation for Immunogenetics EFI sets for such laboratories iii the research capacity of other KU departments The SMP will define both Scientific Agenda and its Administrative and Organisational aspects Work will start with a thorough review of the existing KU departments and their research capacity A series of informal meetings between the ECH and the leaders and researchers of other KU research group is foreseen right after the hiring of the ECH These will put in place the required mechanisms so that the Lab is integrated naturally within an interdisciplinary platform of KUThe ECH will be supported by the entire project team as well as by the research leaders of all the identified synergetic KU research groups and the projects IAB On this basis and by leveraging the information from the abovementioned process the ECH will set up the Scientific Agenda research program of the new Lab Overall the Scientific Agenda will define the scientific orientation of the new Lab and elaborate on the research topics objectives and tasks that will be pursued The SMP will be developed by ECH in M7 and updated in M36 It will be dynamically updated to ensure the orientation of the group in line with research developments in the field
