Project description
Shedding new light on Europe’s photovoltaic sector
The growth of Europe’s solar photovoltaic (PV) sector has been robust thanks to dramatic reductions in the generation costs of electricity. It is important to extend the lifetime and improve the reliability, performance and profitability of PV generation, and allow utility-friendly high-penetration of the PV. SERENDI-PV will develop advanced PV modelling, simulation and design tools, monitoring data analytics for fault diagnostics and improved operation and maintenance, as well as lab- and field-testing quality control equipment and procedures for better assessment of the reliability of PV components and systems. It will enable higher PV penetration through a better understanding of the PV installed capacity, and smart digital models for energy and services communication exchange between system stakeholders. Mobilising 19 partners, SERENDI-PV will test its solutions on real PV installations.
