Economic learning in training for companies

Obiettivo

The partners of this survey and analysis project have identified a need to assess the economic impact of different types and systems of training undertaken in SMEs. There are four aims:
- to develop a model which enables SMEs to quantify the economic benefits of the training undertaken and to determine the most appropriate training methods for the delivery of different training programmes;
- to examine the roles, cost, value and benefits of tutorial and company mentor support within existing and emerging forms of open and flexible learning;
- to examine the costs and benefits to SMEs of undertaking training utilising existing and emerging forms of open and flexible learning, including delivery utilising telematics;
- to actively disseminate project findings through local, national and European networks.

Products will include national reports on the development model and case studies, a newsletter and a world wide web window with information on the project.

Impact
The project will have an impact on policy making in the area of training within SMEs and the ability of the latter to assess the economic effects of training.
