Objectif
Teachers are faced with a big choice in the multimedia training programme market, but they are unable to use many in their teaching because they do not have a sufficient technical background. At the same time, they are not able to assess the training value of these programmes. The goal of this project is therefore to improve teachers' qualifications with regard to both technical and pedagogical analysis methods in relation to multimedia-based teaching.
The partners will develop an evaluation guide for teachers to use before trying out a new learning programme in the classroom. They will also develop a one week course for teachers to train themselves in the use of multimedia-based teaching. The products will be an evaluation method and a series of guidelines for assessing the suitability of multimedia programmes, both in a technical as well as a pedagogical sense. A training course for teachers will also be developed. These products will be available for other countries in English and on the Internet.
Impact
By educating teachers in the use of multimedia technology, they will become capable of evaluating the suitability of individual programmes and so, in the long-run, there will be an improvement in the quality of suppliers' products. It will also enable educational institutions to introduce multimedia training where it is most needed.
