Ziel
Alentejo in southern Portugal, one of Europe's poorest regions, suffers from low levels of economic activity and a skills deficit which causes high unemployment. SMEs are the main source of employment in this area and they play an important role in preventing depopulation. But the survival and growth of SMEs is very much dependent on the improvement of the skills of their managers and workers. This project will therefore develop appropriate training.
The project will be developed in several phases, which include the identification of organisational development needs; the conduct of a needs assessment; the definition of learning contents; the development of a multimedia tool; and the validation of the package. The multimedia tool will enable SME managers to identify their needs with regard to organisational change and develop strategic action plans for their human resources. The tool will be translated from Portuguese into Spanish and Italian.
Impact
The project will have an impact on the way SMEs are organised, notably with regard to their training and human resource management systems.
