Links to deliverables and publications from FP7 projects, as well as links to some specific result types such as dataset and software, are dynamically retrieved from OpenAIRE .

Deliverables

Report on the 2nd intermediate Project meeting (opens in new window)

Report corresponding to the 2nd intermediate meeting

Report on communication and outreach (opens in new window)

Intermediate report on the communication to stakeholders and outreach of the project.

Report on the bending-force relation in nanopillars (opens in new window)

Experimental data on the relation deformation-force for the nanopillar sizes and geometries. The report will compare the experimental with those obtained from the simulation (deliverable D2.1).

Guidelines for optimised semiconductor fabrication route (opens in new window)

The complete fabrication route for the successful fabrication of the nanopillar arrays of different diameters heights and pitches will be reported

Report on living tissues issues affecting light propagation (opens in new window)

Several phenomena can occur during tissue growth, for example, the emission of cilia, that can penetrate into the nanopillar array, affecting light propagation. The impact of this and other phenomena on light transmission will be studied.

Report on dissemination and training actions (opens in new window)

The result of the organisation of the workshops and of the dissemination of the initial scientific and technical outcomes of the project will be described.

Report on relation deformation-force for the nanopillars (opens in new window)

The report will present the results of the simulated relation between nanopillar deformation and horizontally exerted forces based on finite element modelling. It will report the values corresponding to different nanopillar vertical and radial dimensions, corresponding to the dimensions which can be fabricated. The values will be relevant for selecting the subsequent fabrication processes. Nanopillar horizontal displacements around several tens of nanometre are expected for forces in the range of pico Newton.

Report on photodetector selection and characterisation (opens in new window)

Miniaturised photodetectors need to be used to fit to the nanopillar array. Both commercially available as well as ad-hoc designed detector will be and will be either adapted or designed.

Report on the 3rd intermediate Project meeting (opens in new window)

Report corresponding to the 3rd intermediate meeting

Report on the 1st intermediate Project meeting (opens in new window)

Report corresponding to the 1st intermediate meeting

Kick-off meeting (opens in new window)

Kickoff meeting of the project

Report on the design and fabrication issues of the optical grating (opens in new window)

Gratings have been selected for coupling the nanopillar chip to the light source and detector The best configurations compatible with the nanofabrication route will be simulated fabricated

Report on the photonic performance of the nanosystem (opens in new window)

Initial light transmission measurements for different configurations of defects, including that of the demonstrator delivered in D2.3. The results will prove the feasibility of the measurements upon nanopillar bending.

Report on the nanopillar biocompatibility (opens in new window)

Viability tests of the cell survival upon prolonged contact with the nanopillar array will be reported. Results on bare, inorganically and organically functionalised surfaces will be compared, with the aim of achieving biocompatible surfaces.

Dissemination and exploitation plan (opens in new window)

Initial dissemination and exploitation plan including patentability study and market prospect
