Report on living tissues issues affecting light propagation (si apre in una nuova finestra)Several phenomena can occur during tissue growth, for example, the emission of cilia, that can penetrate into the nanopillar array, affecting light propagation. The impact of this and other phenomena on light transmission will be studied.
Report on dissemination and training actions (si apre in una nuova finestra)The result of the organisation of the workshops and of the dissemination of the initial scientific and technical outcomes of the project will be described.
Report on relation deformation-force for the nanopillars (si apre in una nuova finestra)The report will present the results of the simulated relation between nanopillar deformation and horizontally exerted forces based on finite element modelling. It will report the values corresponding to different nanopillar vertical and radial dimensions, corresponding to the dimensions which can be fabricated. The values will be relevant for selecting the subsequent fabrication processes. Nanopillar horizontal displacements around several tens of nanometre are expected for forces in the range of pico Newton.
