Delft-based Qblox is the world’s first provider of fully-integrated quantum control stacks. With technology integrated and tested by leaders in the field of quantum technology, Qblox is developing the Supercluster – a modular 1600-qubit quantum control stack with error correction capabilities. Qblox is uniquely in the position to completing this EU-funded project of the same name, due to its existing core innovations. These include the proprietary SYNQ protocol that synchronises system control with nanosecond precision, the proprietary LINQ protocol that distributes information across the system in less than 200 ns, ultralow noise pulse generators, and an efficient, scalable and easily-accessible orchestration software.
Qblox is a spin-out from Delft-based QuTech, one of Europe’s leading quantum technology hubs. We are the world’s first provider of integrated quantum control stacks. Our prototypes can control up to 20 qubits from a single compact, cost-effective and ultra-low latency device. Our technology is currently being used by world leaders in quantum technology in over 100 academic and industrial labs in Europe, USA, Australia and Japan. Our goal is to develop the Supercluster—a modular 1,600 qubit quantum control stack with error correction capabilities. This will allow our customers in the quantum hardware sector to focus on core product development and accelerate their path towards quantum advantage.

Qblox has been prototyping the key new hardware elements for project supercluster and has been developing many software and firmware functionalities. Important key achieved KPI’s are: reduced the noise of signals for 2-qubit gates to the best in the market. We have reduced signal drifts for fast (ns time-scale) signal generators to just a few parts per million which is better a factor >10 compared to any known alternative; furthermore, we have implemented real-time predistortion filters to allow for repeatable, atomic and high-fidelity 2-qubit gates. We have extended and tested multi-device synchronicity (down to femtoseconds) for 100s of control and readout channels. We have upgraded our compiler stack to be compatible with super-cluster control (beyond one Cluster) and demonstrated speedup in running experiments by up to 230x. We prototyped two different boards to increase the density of our control and readout modules. We have demonstrated results for quantum error correction at the forefront of real-time decoding research, by developing a decoder module integrated with the Supercluster and showing decoding of a surface code in less than 500 ns. We have validated our technology with academic and industrial partners including TU Delft, Yale University, Qphox.
We managed the project effectively, prepared and maintained the project documentation regarding deliverables, periodic report and resources allocation and monitored the risks on a regular basis.
We have disseminated our goals and progress in more than 50 conferences related to quantum computing (including CES, Mobile World Conference-4YFN, IEEE quantum week, Q2B and APS March Meeting) reaching a broad audience of investors, scientists, customers and policy makers

Quantum computing is more and more seen as a key strategic technology field. Qblox is operating internationally and taking a key position in the global value chain. This is exemplified by several sales and partnerships with prominent institutes and companies in Europe, USA and Japan. The demonstrated high-density modules and real-time decoding features are proof of the scalability of our approach to the era of quantum advantage and fault-tolerant quantum computing.
