Obiettivo
In most Member States, pest control practitioners are not required, and do not often choose, to undergo a great deal of training. This is why, for some years now, the European Confederation of Pesticide Applicators (CEPA) has been examining the situation. Consequently, they have managed to determine the basic skills common to the various professionals so that they can propose training at a European level. This project is the result of their study and aims to create a basic training method for fighting pests and to develop corresponding educational tools.
The training method will integrate educational tools such as overhead projection, CD-ROMs and/or videos. Initially, these tools will be tested in real training situations in partner companies. The workers' needs will be met through the creation of a paper-based training guide, while the trainers will use diskettes and CD-ROMs. Together this will form a portable package to be used for training and testing by company trainers and technical managers.
This project will be validated by the CEPA and the results will be made available in several languages through the network of association members.
Impact
Considering the numerous implications of the project for various contexts (workers' health and safety, environmental protection, etc.), this project will prove to be an essential contributor to this sector.
