Obiettivo
Partnership between European organisations is important for the competitiveness of Europe. To be able to develop fruitful and flexible relationships, it is important that both partners start at the same level, especially in the technology sector. It is not always easy to transfer technology : training modules have to be designed; people have to be trained; and adjustments in management have to be made to ensure the transfer is permanent.
This project will transfer a technology known as 'Geographical Information Systems (GIS), which is a powerful set of tools for collecting, storing, retrieving, transforming and displaying geographical information. There will be three main themes : data acquisition and information about objects (i.e. land use, soil type); analysis (combination of data to solve a problem); and presentation (maps, graphs and tables). The partners will analyse all three themes, and transform them into a set of training modules.
The training modules will be produced in the form of a printed manual and in electronic format. Articles written during and after the project will be published in technical magazines. All products will be posted on the internet.
Impact
The project will increase the effectiveness of technology transfer and enable organisations to enter into European partnerships more easily.
