Inter-trial testbed of mobile applications for satellite communications

The project defines, performs and evaluates trials related to the development and application of satellite universal mobile transmission systems (S-UMTS). The project offers a trial platform to other projects open for the integration and testing of S-UMTS components and applications under development. Configurable communication channels supporting integrated services digital network (ISDN) and asynchronous transmission mode (ATM) with transfer rates up to 2 Mbps are envisaged. The main achievements of the project so far are: specification of joint trials with other projects; successful execution of first integration trials with the project MOMUSYS regarding adaptive source and channel coding.
