Objective Objectives: To purify and characterize the TMAOase to get deeper insight into the occurrence, properties and molecular mechanism of this enzyme. To achieve this objective sophisticated methods for solubility and chromatography will be applied for the purification of the membrane bound TMAOase . Advanced techniques like HPLC, fluorimetry and spectroscopy will be used for identification and characterization of co-factors. As properties and intracellular localization of TMAOase from various fish species may be considerably different, the enzyme will be purified from two commercially important fish species, saithe and hake.
