CHARACTERISATION OF TMAO ASE ACTIVITY AND INHIBITON OF FORMATION OF FORMALDEHYDE AND DIMETHYLAMINE IN FISHERY PRODUCTS

Objective

Objectives:

To purify and characterize the TMAOase to get deeper insight into the occurrence, properties and molecular mechanism of this enzyme.

To achieve this objective sophisticated methods for solubility and chromatography will be applied for the purification of the membrane bound TMAOase . Advanced techniques like HPLC, fluorimetry and spectroscopy will be used for identification and characterization of co-factors.

As properties and intracellular localization of TMAOase from various fish species may be considerably different, the enzyme will be purified from two commercially important fish species, saithe and hake.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
