Wastewater pollution load monitor (Loadmon)

Loadmon has developed an optical non-contact sensor to measure the polluting load of a wastewater. It measures suspended solids and organic load as BOD and COD. Some work has also been carried out on optical non-contact flow velocity measurement to complement the quality measurement. The intended applications are wastewater load in a sewer network, sewage treatment plant inlet and treated sewage load, combined sewer overflows and some industrial wastewater load. Loadmon provides for reliable measurement due to the non-contact method. Current status: the technique has been tested in the lab and field and a patent application made. WRc is talking to possible commercial partners about manufacture.
