Verwertbare Ergebnisse
The industrial objective of this project is to provide European food packaging sectors with an in-mould decorated, injection moulded packaging technology. With several key advantages over the existing thermoformed products. These include full colour, high resolution print coverage over all five sides of the package's base, an integrated tamper evident lid-base interface and 100% recyclability .
These technical requirements have been tackled via four main work packages.
- Work Package 1, Development Platform, evaluated the overall background technology, resulted in the development of concept designs for the system elements, and established an operational targets specification.
- Work Package 2, Process Model Feasibility, evaluated the alternative designs for the key system elements (stack tooling, handling system & vision system), resulting in pr of principle and detailed designs for each element.
- Work Package 3, Prototype System Development, resulted in the development of working prototypes for each of the system elements.
- Work Package 4, Industrial Validation, trialed each of the elements to evaluate their speed, accuracy & reliability if taken into a production situation.
