Ziel

Scientific research into the effect of design parameters on dynamic stresses, strains and fatigue life of ice-axes and crampons is necessary to enable future designs both effective and safe. Research is required to establish the stresses, strains and fatigue life of ice-axes and crampons and their relationship with the design parameters of the equipment. The research results will be incorporated into design guidelines for use by ice-axe and crampon manufacturers.
