Obiettivo
The FORG-BID project is performed by a consortium of six Industrial partners and two R&D Performer from two European countries: Spain and France. The co-ordinating partner is Adepa, a French non profit institution that represents a very important national organisation for the SME's in training and advice in the implementation of integrated production systems. The project objective is to develop an innovative software tool to support a non productive task that it is the offer creation for forging parts. In this context, the most important problem is not only the reduction of the time required to generate new offers. The re-using of the data defined in the offer preparation is fundamental when the customer order arrives. It is very important to, to be able to know and analyse the deviations, from the offered cost and the manufactured cost in order to improve the data accuracy and to be more competitive in the market. In forging companies the part weigh is a very imponant parameter that always is not known in the offering phase. The part weight is starting point for automatic calculation of other data like raw material weight, size, etc. Each part has some specific data that charaterize it like a part of a family, so the system could help the user presenting possible solutions, based on historical data, for manufacturing process and parameters, machine selection, tooling cost, etc. The project is subdivided into three main phases : specification and prototyping, software development and implementation and tuning of the resulting software. The program generated will be oriented to a Personal Computer for a standard environment like windows 95. The software tools that will be used in the development will be a very generalised programs like Visual Basic, Access, etc. The running of the program will not need to buy, for the industrial partners, any run time licence of any used software. The project results are exploitable in two different directions : the industrial partners are mainly interested in a direct exploitation of the program by using it in their installations. The R&D performers will use the generated product for future consulting project. This project was selected in Phase I by the European Commission for financial support. The reference number given to the proposal was : BE-ST-2486.
