Obiettivo
ELSAM, THE REGIONAL POWER COMPANY OF JUTLAND AND FUNEN, HAS ENGAGED IN THE TASK OF DESIGNING, BUILDING AND COMMISSIONING A 60 M/2 MW WIND TURBINE. THE SITE IS AT ESBJERG ON THE SOUTHERN WEST COAST OF JUTLAND. THE PROJECT IS A CONTINUATION OF THE DANISH NATIONAL WIND POWER PROGRAMME FOR DEVELOPMENT OF LARGE-SCALE, ELECTRICITY PRODUCING WIND ENERGY CONVERSION SYSTEMS WHICH WAS INITIATED IN 1977, AND ITS MAIN OBJECTIVE IS TO INVESTIGATE UNDER WHAT CIRCUMSTANCES AND TO WHICH DEGREE WIND ENERGY CAN MAKE A VIABLE CONTRIBUTION TO THE DANISH ELECTRICITY SUPPLY SYSTEM.
THE TURBINE WAS CONNECTED TO THE GRID FOR THE FIRST TIME ON MARCH 23, 1988 AND THE ACCEPTANCE TEST TOWARDS THE CEC WAS APPROVED ON SEPTEMBER 2, 1988.
PROBLEMS WITH THE CONTROL COMPUTER LIMITED THE NUMBERS OF OPERATING HOURS TO APPROXIMATELY 300 IN THE FIRST 11 MONTHS AFTER THE FIRST CONNECTION. THE PROBLEMS WERE SOLVED IN MARCH 1989 AND ON MAY 1, 1989 THE STATUS IS :
- OPERATING HOURS 686 H.
- PRODUCTION 522.3 MWH.
THE TURBINE BEHAVES STRUCTURALLY AND PRODUCTION-WISE AS EXPECTED, AND THE MEASURED LOADS AND THE PRODUCTION ARE IN AGREEMENT WITH THE CALCULATED VALUES.
THE MEASUREMENT PROGRAMME WHICH COMPRISES TWO 90 M MASTS WITH INSTRUMENTATION IN 5 LEVELS AND A CONTROL COMPUTER WICH COLLECTS DATA FROM THE MASTS AND THE TURBINE HAVE BEEN USED EXTENSIVELY DURING COMMISSIONING, ESPECIALLY WITH COLLECTION OF DATA FROM THE TURBINE.
