Complex Resistivity Tomography

Summary: A field technique and an inversion algorithm was developed to get a plane view of the resistivity distribution in the underground between two boreholes. With the complex resistivity tomography not only the DC-resistivity is determined but also the polarizability, so that there are two physical parameters to describe the electric properties of the ground. Resistivity anomalies may indicate various structures like geological and hydrogeological layers, foundings, cavities, and as shown in the project contaminations. So obviously, there will be a great potential to apply this new technique to , eg, civil engineering, hydrogeological monitoring, and environmental studies.
