Multiple pathways methodology

Summary: The multiple pathway method combines aspects of the EVA approach and LCIA problem oriented approach. As LCA is an iterative process and decisions about impact assessment affect for example the nature of the inventory the approach covers all the components of life cycle assessment, not just the impact assessment phase. Although the methodology has been constructed around the needs to evaluating recycyling processes by the nature of life cycle assessment it has to incorporate all parts of the life cycle and so should be applicable to any product or process system.
