Although most European universities have telecommunication facilities, teachers seldom use them for pedagogical purposes. This paradox is, in part, due to the lack of awareness about telematics applications and to the difficulty teachers have in formulating their needs clearly into realistic applications and services. The aim of DART is to develop a dynamic awareness raising process about telematics applications, via the NATURA network. NATURA is a network bringing together 33 European agricultural and veterinary universities or faculties with the aim to contribute to the transfer of knowledge, and to the creation of new knowledge essential to economic, social, cultural and environmental development. The main outcome of the DART project is the blue print for a European Virtual Agricultural and Veterinary Faculty.
