Lack of common terminology in Natural Disasters research is a weak point of the European research activity in this field. EU-MEDIN, an Accompanying Measure project of DG Research organized a set of glossaries with basic terms regarding forest fires, earthquakes, floods, avalanches, landslides and industrial hazards. The EU-MEDIN dictionary software is a product of the EU-MEDIN Accompanying Measure project of the DG Research of the EC. It is a software utility that allows experts in Natural Disaster research to share and use common glossaries of scientific terms. Furthermore elaboration and update of the glossaries through the EU-Medin website (http://www.eu-medin.org) is provided. The software is installed locally in the user's computer and prompt with the definition of the term on which the user click his/her mouse. Word documents and text of Internet browsers are supported.
