Analytical methods for product evaluation Product Characterization Different Possibilities for Squalene enrichment

Summary: Different ways has been checked in regard to the possible squalene enrichment from olive oil deodorizer distillates and the best possibilities has been further developed in frame of the project. One publication is in preparation by partner SSOG. Calculations of Phase equilibria which help to control the process with prototype plant are available. A PhD- theses concerning this results is in preparation by TUHH. The basic results are also useful for other research tasks. 14 different analytical methods have been developed in frame of the project. It is possible to transfer these methods for other applications and research and development projects which concern fats and oils. Different enriched Squalene and Squalene products from olive oil residues have been characterized by analytical studies and the analytical profiles are available.
