Obiettivo
The proposal of this project is the research of unemployment persistence as well as skill mismatch.The objective is to compare mismatch indices obtained from matching functions and those obtained from models with quantity constraints (more precisely, models where aggregate employment is obtained by explicit aggregation over firms facing quantity constraits). On this basis,I want to evaluate to what extent Beveridge curve shifts may be due to skill mismatch. I would like to apply our methodology to different European countries and check, within this implied theoretical framework, wether the observed shifts in the Beveridge curve are due to similar factors in all countries.
In the current economic literature there exits different mismatch indices which have different policy applications. The subject of this research is to unify all of these indices in one that makes easier the policies.
