Sytem for High-speed Automatic Reading Of Cheques (SHAROC)

SHAROC allows a significant reduction in cheque processing times thanks to image-based cheque processing systems that provide new perspectives of information storage and inter-bank exchange. The cheque processing platform includes: - A power-encoder system for image capture, backstamping and encoding. - A cheque processing manager for dispatch and control of tasks such as capture, transfer, storage, ICR processing, ICR control with the use of DLLs, videocoding for ICR corrections or codeline correction, post-processing which includes encoding and bank files edition, update of customer accounts on host mainframe. This manager also performs administrative tasks, fault recovery tasks and provides statistical evaluations. - A SHAROC ICR system, to read automatically both the cheques and the payments slips. Both the courtesy and the legal amounts are read on cheques.
