European virtual institute for gas turbine instrumentation

Objetivo

This proposal creates the European Virtual Institute for Gas Turbine Instrumentation (EVI-GTI) as called by the Growth-Dedicated Call 10/00 GROW 2000-7.2 topic IV.25 (EoI GEOI-1999-10108). EVI-GTI links "Setting Up of Virtual Institutes" under "Support to Research Infrastructure" to Key Action 4 New Perspectives in Aeronautics in particular Development of Critical Technology Platforms GROW 2000 4.6. The 16 partners of EVI-GTI span 4 market sectors from 8 EU members. EVI-GTI seeks funding for 3 years and presents a 5-year work plan. Years 4&5 are self-funded; the mechanisms for this are in the work plan. EVI-GTI does not seek to develop instrumentation but to initiate teaming arrangements and EU centres of excellence. Supporting EVI-GTI the EU will have a step response to the US challenge in Sensors and Sensor System technology and have raised the profile of EU competence in this critical market sector.
