Obiettivo
The aim of the period is to start producing, in great magnitude, hydro-electric installations, gathering together the developments and improvements studied in depth by the THEE.
An essential objective of the implementation of the improvements was to allow the THEE to recommend a range of micro-turbines and equipment of extreme simplicity, about which the characteristics are thoroughly known and of which the installation procedure is tested. This results in a reasonable and controlled price.
The project on the whole has been a complete success through the simple fact that it has allowed the development of a range of micro-turbines and supplementary equipment, and secondly, it has lead to the realisation within the THEE of a significant turnover (3.5M FFr, in the years 1989 and 1990). On the down side, the performance of the demonstration turbine has been judged inferior to the forecasts. The implementation of new improvements has permitted an efficiency of 75% to be obtained.
To date, 400 turbines between 30 and 200 kW are in use with this new arrangement.
The installation has been developed on the site of an old mill, it is situated downstream from the sluice dam, on the left bank of the river and was constructed with the following equipment : - A protecting grill with an automatic cleaning system with a gully for recovery of the debris. This automatic cleaning system developed through this project is now a product commercialised by THEE; 10 examples are in use in France.
- A penstock of 1200 mm diameter and 800 m in length fitted with a manually operated butterfly valve at the entrance.
- A turbine type D 861 AE, of 800 mm diameter with variable pitch blades controlled hydraulically. The above material is the principle object of the demonstration program.
- An alternator, ane electric distribution box, and electronic regulator to supply a clean electric current.
- An assembly of radiators dispersed in different rooms in the adjacent building.
- An outflow channel connecting the hydroelectric plant with the river after a course of300 metres.
