Expression studies using hybridisation microchips with immobilised EST-oligonucleotides: identification of expressed genes in differentiated cells

Work concentrated on the engineering and the biochemical and biophysical aspects of DNA-chip production - applying different formats of DNA-chips, from oligomer arrays to chips produced with PCR-products - and there use under various experimental conditions. By exchanging the results and experiences between the three participating groups, the drawbacks of the various methods could be better assessed in each of the groups, thus advancing the achievement of results significantly. Within the Western groups, the influence of the project was more indirect because of the increased discussion between three highly competent groups. The Russian partner could compete experimentally on a level that would not have been possible without the support by INTAS.
