Leistungen
The CLARiFi Broker System represents the implementation of the main research achievements coming from the CLARiFi project. In particular the system implements:
- A Classification Manager which allows the system administrator to define the components Classification Model which characterises the actual CLARiFi instance. A Classification Model is composed by a set of properties which components are expected to exhibit even if not at the same level of quality.
- A Supplier Interface which allows the supplier to register their own components to the CLARiFi system according to the defined Classification Model.
- A Certifier Interface which allows third party authorised assessors to certified specified components properties. Those certified properties will then change their status from "claimed" (as submitted by the relevant Supplier) to "certified".
- An Integrator Interface, which allows software producer, which deploy large systems to select suitable components according to their needs. The selection process is based on visual technologies allowing to compare different components which equally well suite the required specs.
The integrator may look for components by defining required values concerning specific properties, which the components should exhibit. This way the integrator defines an ideal component. Then CLARiFi looks for the actual components satisfying the query. To be installed the CLARiFi Broker System requires ORACLE 8i version 8.1.6 and Java version 1.3 virtual machine.
