Links to deliverables and publications from FP7 projects, as well as links to some specific result types such as dataset and software, are dynamically retrieved from OpenAIRE .

Exploitable results

High power absorption heat pumps of compact design have already been developed and tested. One of the main features of this design is the use of plate-fin heat exchangers which are economical and allow flexibility in the choice of heat source. This project has further improved the cost effectiveness of this equipment by producing an even more compact design with lower primary energy demand. High power absorption heat-pumps of compact design are already used in absorption systems. These use plate-fin heat exchangers (PFHE) which allow flexibility in the choice of heat source and are also economical. The aim of this project was to carry out further research into the physical characteristics of the components in the system to make them as compact as possible. It also aimed to reduce the primary energy requirements of future generations of absorption machines in order to make them as cost effective as possible.
