Integrated transport effect model system on urban scale - ITEMS

The goal of the ITEMS project was to develop and validate an operational computerized tool to support the assessment of the economic, environmental and social impact of transport and support policy decisions in the urban transport field. It focused on energy efficiency and the environment. ITEMS is a tool for the evaluation of technology options and policy measures in terms of needs, potentials and impacts on transport, energy and the environment in an urban context. It is also a multi-disciplinary simulation package which has used the best available expertise in the modelling of transport, energy, emissions and economies. Finally, it has produced an analytical method and an evaluation package which could be used in a variety of contexts depending upon the data available, the decisional issues and the practical expertise of use.
