WEGA-II large wind turbine scientific evaluation project

The WEGA-II action supported by the European Commission involved twelve differentwind turbine projects involving machines in the MW range. The aim of this scientificevaluation project was to provide co-ordination, technical assistance, qualityassurance and data evaluation for each of the WEGA-II projects. The underlyingobjective was to ensure a uniform high technical standard in all the projects and toobtain comparable reports from each of the projects, but without bringing toomuch standardization into the work, in order to facilitate widespread dissemination.As the quality of the measurements underlying the reports is very important, highpriority was given in the project to quality assurance on the measurements anddata acquisition systems used.
