Obiettivo
Purification of Vegetables Peptides from Sunflower residues after Lipid extraction by enzimatic process of separation, taking advantage of the abundace of this primary matter which is under-exploited and causing environmental problems, obtaining a high quality product with significant added value, great international market demand and improving present environment area conditions.
Protein hydrolysates derived from animals (PHA) are declining when compared to protein hydrolysates of plant origin, which have the advantage of both greatly advanced technical characteristics and lower production costs. The manufacturing technonlogy of protein hydrolysates of plant origin is focused on achieving safe production processes and enhanced nutritional qualities, in fact, the hydrolitic enzyme gives us greater security without the risks of contamination. Our project is directed at obtaining protein hydrolysates of plant origin (sunflower) using an enzymatic process of separation and material derived from the obtained peptides, to meet the strategic requirements of the market. The following three qualities illustrate the advantages of our method: - The elimination of toxic compounds, microorganisms or compounds produced by chemical hydrolysis or contained in animal proteins, possible pollutants for living bodies. - The use of the residual products from the food production process, in our case, fat free sunflower seed, which is found in large qualities throughout the European Community: Spain (95) 130.000 tons, France (93) 150.000 tons and Italy (93) 60.000 tons containing proteins in more than 30% of their total weight and from which one obtains a high quality product with significant added value. These residues are now under exploited and it is difficult to find a direct use for them; the storage or elimination of some of them even causes environmental problems. - Full use of the primary matter, for the derivative product which is contained within the floating residue, the top layer or the lignocellulosite layer produced during the first stage of enzymatic separation can be utilized in the packaging industry, compressed for combustion and its fibrous components can be used in the animal feeding industry. This achieves the reutilization of 40% of initial primary matter, approximately 10 to 15% of the Direct Cost.
